Vacation requests on paper or by email get lost easily, and overlapping absences are often noticed too late. In CIRO NOISE everyone submits their own leave request in Time tracking under Absences with the “Request absence” button.
The request isn't only for vacation. The same form handles special leave, training, unpaid days, time off in lieu and other absences. A half day counts as 0.5 days. CIRO NOISE counts the working days in the period, excluding weekends and public holidays.
How a leave request works in CIRO NOISE
The request goes to the person's manager from the org chart. If the manager is away, their deputy decides. Nobody decides on their own request. If a request sits without a decision, the admin team gets a message after three days by default.
You can name a stand-in on the request, the person who covers your work. They are notified and see the period in the team calendar, but they don't decide on the request. Your own vacation request can't exceed your remaining vacation days.
Overlaps and the team calendar
Before every approval, CIRO NOISE shows whether others on the team are already off during the same period. Approved absences then appear in the team calendar, and your own also in the calendar feed you can add to your calendar. Pending approvals show on the home page, and the AI presents requests in the chat as a button that a person presses.
Sick notes are not requests
A sick note is a notification. By default it takes effect immediately and needs no approval. Because the reason is health data, colleagues only see “absent” in the calendar. The person, their managers and the admin team see the reason.
An everyday example
Lena requests vacation from 15 to 25 September and names Pascal as her stand-in. Before approving, Kira sees that Mara is already off that same week and has a quick word with both. Then she approves with one click, and Lena is notified.
