Every member in CIRO NOISE has exactly one role. It answers the question of what this person may do in the organization: manage everything, read everywhere or work in specific features.
You choose the role when inviting someone and change it later under Organization › Members. It is separate from the seat: the seat says whether someone takes up a full seat or only logs hours, and the role says what they may do within that limit.
How roles work in CIRO NOISE
Owners can do everything, including handing on the owner role and deleting the organization. Admins manage members, roles, settings and the subscription, including cancelling it, and work in every feature. Viewers read along and change nothing. Permissions for these three roles are fixed, so personal overrides have no effect on them.
Every other member works with a role bundle, such as Customer service or Finance. The bundle sets, for each feature, whether the person has no access, can read or can write. For individual people you can deviate from it without creating a new bundle.
Who can assign which role
Owners and admins assign roles. The owner role is the owners' business: only an owner can make someone an owner, change an owner's role or remove an owner from the organization.
Two rules keep an organization from ending up without anyone in charge. There is always at least one person with the owner or admin role, and you can't demote yourself below admin. Someone else with management rights has to do that, and for an owner it must be another owner. Owners and admins also always need a full seat.
An everyday example
In an engineering firm of eight, the founder is the owner and the office manager is an admin. He invites new members and maintains the role bundles. The project engineers get Engineering, the bookkeeper gets Finance. The external tax advisor gets the Viewer role so he can read along without changing anything.
