A receipt is the proof behind an expense or income: the invoice from your office supplier, a fuel receipt, the monthly bill for your software. In CIRO NOISE, all receipts of your organization live in one place, under Finance › Receipts. Each receipt holds the amount, date, business partner, category and optionally a cost center, along with the file itself.
You don't have to type receipts in. Drag PDFs or photos into the list and the AI proposes the fields. For e-invoices in XRechnung or ZUGFeRD format, CIRO NOISE takes amounts, VAT and dates straight from the embedded invoice data. A plain XML file needs no AI at all.
Capturing receipts digitally saves you the shoebox at year end. Your tax advisor gets the confirmed receipts, including the original documents, as a DATEV export.
How receipt capture works in CIRO NOISE
You upload one or more files: PDF, JPG, PNG, WebP or an e-invoice as XML, up to 10 MB each. Every file is analyzed right after upload. The AI picks out the business partner, invoice number, document date, due date, gross, net and VAT, and shows for each receipt how confident it is: high, medium or low. If an invoice lists two VAT rates, such as 7% and 19% on a restaurant bill, CIRO NOISE splits the receipt into two tax lines.
Then you check the fields. Receipts only appear in your list once you create them. If you have set up cost centers, the AI suggests a matching one, and CIRO NOISE recognizes known business partners by name, even if spelled slightly differently.
From draft to confirmed receipt
Every receipt has a status: draft, review or confirmed. Only confirmed receipts go into the DATEV export, so unchecked figures never reach your tax advisor. Once a receipt is paid, you record the payment with date, amount and payment method. Partial payments work too, and the rest stays open.
If your organization has locked a period, no new receipts can be created in it.
A real-world example
An agency with six people collects about 40 receipts a month. Every Friday the office manager drags all PDFs into the receipt list. The AI fills in amount and date and assigns the print shop to the marketing cost center. She fixes two fields, creates and confirms the receipts, and at the end of the month downloads the DATEV export for the tax advisor.
Permissions and data protection
Who can see or create receipts is controlled by the finance permission in your organization's roles. The DATEV export is a separate permission that you grant explicitly. The AI runs in data centers in the EU, and your receipts are not used to train AI models.
