Not every piece of information belongs in every AI answer. The salary bands, the investor agreement or the notes on a dismissal belong in the wiki, but not in the answer to "What do people earn here?". That's what confidential knowledge in CIRO NOISE is for.
You mark content as confidential in three places: on a wiki page with the "Confidential" setting, on an FAQ entry or saved support solution with the "Confidential" field, and on meetings with the "Restricted" visibility. This content appears in knowledge search and in AI answers only to people whose role has the "Confidential knowledge" permission. Connected external AI tools never see it.
How confidential knowledge works in CIRO NOISE
"Confidential knowledge" is a separate permission you give a role under Organization › Rights and roles. New members don't have it by default. Without it, CIRO NOISE filters confidential results out of search, and the entry counts in the navigation leave them out too, so nobody can tell from a number that there's more.
The AI assistant Isa works with the permissions of the person asking. If that person lacks the permission, Isa can't find the confidential page and can't summarize it either. Connected AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT never see confidential content, even if the person has the permission.
An everyday example
Kira runs an agency with twelve people. Under "People" in the wiki there's a page called "Salary bands 2026", which she marks as confidential. Only the "Management" role has the confidential knowledge permission. When Pascal asks the AI about salaries, he gets no answer from that page. Kira, on the other hand, finds it through search and can ask the AI about it.
How it differs from "Don't index" and private meetings
"Confidential" means searchable, but only for people with permission. If you set a wiki page to "Don't index", it stays out of the knowledge base for everyone. Private meetings, which only their participants can read, never enter the knowledge base. Who can open a wiki page at all is still set by the wiki's read permissions.
