A role bundle in CIRO NOISE describes a job in your team and the permissions it needs. For every feature it holds one of three levels: no access, read or write. On top come finer permissions, for example for financial figures, confidential knowledge or exports.
Every new organization comes with ten ready-made role bundles: Management, Project work, Assistant, Customer service, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, HR, Works council and Time tracking. You find them under Organization › Rights and roles, where you can rename and adjust them and create your own. In the app they carry the names your organization gave them.
How role bundles work in CIRO NOISE
When inviting someone, or later under Organization › Members, you pick a role bundle for them. If you change the bundle, the change applies immediately to every member who has it. If the Customer service bundle should also be able to read invoices from now on, that takes one tick instead of ten.
Role bundles apply to every member except owners, admins and viewers, whose permissions are fixed. Whatever a bundle allows also only works in features the organization has switched on. A finer permission without its feature has no effect, so CIRO NOISE removes it when you save.
An everyday example
A property management firm of twelve uses the ready-made bundles. The three clerks who deal with customers get Customer service and handle requests and customer records. Accounting gets Finance with receipts, invoices and exports. When the firm decides that customer service should also book appointments, the admin adds that to the bundle once, and all three can do it right away.
Role bundles and time-tracking seats
Members on a free time-tracking seat can at most handle their own hours and requests and read the wiki, knowledge base and files. When you invite someone to that seat, CIRO NOISE therefore only offers bundles that fit within this limit, first of all the Time tracking bundle. A bundle can't upgrade the seat.
If one person needs an exception, set a permission override instead of building a new bundle just for them.
